Let's be practical about this. Kashmir goes through the same nonsense every year, and every year we get lied to that the people in charge will rectify all of our issues. So what's another day or two of self-imposed hartals to get our point across? If the residents of Kashmir truly want change, sacrifices must be made. So the education of their children is going down the drain. Can they not put forth some effort of their own, and home school them? Or in their community, find people trained in the necessary subjects, and have them gather in a home, mosque, etc and teach? For, when the schools are shut down, what else have the teachers to do? And many a parent is sitting at home. Why not attempt to educate your child? If you feel you must have a bound curriculum, you can easily opt for homeschooling abroad by contacting numerous institutions. I've provided a link below.
Omar Abdullah gave his daily ramble on how we were all progressing by stating that there was no victory or loss, but only victory for the children who attended school today. Who's to say tomorrow will be the same? And, if you don't mind my asking Omar Sahib, just where do you send your two boys?
Just another thing before I wrap this up:: has anyone else noticed his hair lately? I mean, it seems that overnight the man went salt and pepper. Does he think that we'll take him more seriously now, or that we believe that he, too, has suddenly grown a conscience? Not that it's clouded his decision to build what I hear has become a nearly 7 crore house, which isn't even close to finishing. So maybe the guy's out to look a bit older, give a little more oomph in his role. Perhaps that's why Rahul felt the need for that hideous beard........
